The unit oversees credential production, account management services including campus debit accounts, a robust electronic door access program that spans across the main campus and other Virginia Tech locations, and advanced system support. Overview

Hokie Passport Services delivers essential credential services that support the daily operations and security of the Virginia Tech community. Hokie Passport Services strives to incorporate technology, automation, and integration into all its operations. The unit organizes its support into four key operational areas: Credential Production, Account Management Services, Electronic Door Access, and System Support.

Credential Production

Hokie Passport Services produces official university credentials for students, faculty, staff, wage, and affiliates. In addition to identity verification, these credentials serve as a transactional platform, facilitate access to university resources, and support the integration of multiple campus services. Hokie Passport Services ensures that credential production is accurate, secure, and timely to meet the needs of the university community.

Account Management Services

Account Management Services manages campus accounts, including dining plans and Hokie Passport Debit Accounts, ensuring secure and seamless app and card-based financial transactions. Hokie Passport Services also provides support to Conference and Guest Services by creating custom dining and access solutions, reporting, and other system support. These services ensure that both the everyday campus community and guest operations operate smoothly and securely.

Electronic Door Access

Hokie Passport Services manages the university's robust electronic door access program, providing secure and convenient entry to facilities across the main campus and other Virginia Tech locations. The unit strives to utilize a broad array of technologies, including smart access solutions, to deliver efficient and cost-effective access for the university community.

System Support

Hokie Passport Services provides system-based support for both HPS CS Gold system users and other university systems, ensuring seamless integration, functionality, and security to serve the university community.
