Mobile ID App

Mobile ID is an alternative to your Virginia Tech Student ID card also known as your Hokie Passport ID card. As an incoming first year or transfer student who will be residing in one of Virginia Tech’s on-campus residence halls, you will be able to utilize this app-based solution to access your suite door in addition to using your Hokie Passport ID. Please note that you must be connected to the campus network to use Mobile ID.

If you are planning to move into your residence hall this fall semester prior to obtaining your Hokie Passport Student ID, then you will need to use the Mobile ID app to access your room. See Instructions on how to load and use this app. Once you have picked up your Hokie Passport Student ID card the Mobile ID app will be a great backup plan if you ever lock yourself out of your room!

Setting/Resetting Your PIN

For security purposes it is highly recommended that you reset your Mobile ID PIN once you have completed the download of the app. See Instructions on resetting the PIN.
